U.S. Intercollegiate Called After Two Rounds

Stanford, Calif. - Due to severe weather Sunday morning, the U.S. Intercollegiate was called before the third and final round could get underway. The 31st-ranked Washington men's golf team finished fourth at 23-over 583, five strokes behind UCLA.

Alex Prugh placed sixth at 2-over 142 to lead the Huskies. The junior bounced back from a first-round 76 with a 4-under 66 in round two. Stanford's Rob Grube won the event at 5-under 135. He was the only player to finish the tournament under par.

Erik Olson shot rounds of 73 and 72 to place 12th at 5-over 145. James Lepp was a stroke behind him, finishing 15th after shooting 72 and 74 in rounds one and two. Sterling Clark's 71 led the Dawgs in round one. The sophomore shot 79 in the second round, giving him a 150 and placing him 35th. Freshman John Wise, playing in his second varsity tournament as a Husky, shot rounds of 78 and 79 for a composite score of 157, good for 73rd.

The Huskies play next at the Pac-10 Championships, April 24-26, in Palm Desert, Calif.
