Brandon Roy, Senior, Guard
On getting over pregame jitters:
"Early in the game, I missed a couple layups, but I think I was just a little overexcited. Even in warmups I noticed my shots were a little long, but I was just excited; this is a big stage. It was fun to play, but I think, once these teams settled in, it was a pretty good game."
On stepping up his game:
"In the huddle, the coaches said it's time to start being more aggressive. This is the time where you have to step up and you don't have to necessarily socre, but try to make plays for teammates. When I came out, the guys, they were playing a zone and they kept shooting to the top guy and I was open in the corner. I just had to have confidence in myself to keep taking the shots, and this team, they want me to take over late in the game, so I just try to do my best to help the team win. Tonight it was scoring and trying to make plays."
On Utah State:
"They were a tough team, you might not have been able to tell from the stands, but out there, they were really physical. The refs let the game play. We had a bad game and we weren't very physical, but that's not the makeup of this team. We are a physical team and we're scrappy. Tonight I think we did a good job of coming out and showing everybody that we're a scrappy team and we can hold some leads in the second half."
Jamaal Williams, Senior, Forward
On coming off the bench:
"Each game I sit on the bench and try to observe what's going on. Tonight I noticed the team wasn't scoring buckets, we were missing easy layups. In my mind, I thought I would go out there and try to be aggressive. I started scoring points and everybody kind of caught on to that and we started going from there."
