A total of seven Washington football players were named to the Academic All-Pac-10 team today, highlighted by first-team selection Victor Aiyewa, a junior defensive back.
Along with Aiyewa's selection, senior fullback Paul Homer and redshirt freshman safety Greg Walker were named to the second team while sophomore linebacker Cort Dennison, sophomore kicker Erik Folk, junior offensive tackle Cody Habben and senior offensive guard Morgan Rosborough all earned honorable mention.
Aiyewa, from Fresno, Texas, is a regular on special teams and also sees action at safety. He boasts a 3.36 grade point average in sociology. He was also a member of the first team last year.
Homer, from Omaha, Neb., is a biology major with a 3.19 grade point average. He's the Huskies' No. 1 fullback. Walker (Bellflower, Calif.), who has made three starts at safety and also is a regular on several special teams, is a pre-engineering major with a 3.45 GPA.
The Husky football team closes out the regular season this Saturday, Dec. 5, when it plays host to California in a 3:30 p.m. game.
