SEATTLE - The University of Washington athletic department announced today that approximately 800 season tickets remain for the upcoming Husky men's basketball season.
"It has always been our goal to sell out Bank of America Arena on a season-ticket basis," said Athletics Director Todd Turner. "This is the closet we've ever come to doing that."
Washington has already sold 600 season tickets over last year's total of 6,442, including 1,200 student season tickets.
"We're fortunate that Husky men's basketball tickets are quickly becoming a scarce commodity," Turner said. "We anticipate that future demand for season tickets will exceed our supply. Therefore, anyone who is interested in season tickets in the future should purchase them now."
Next year, most of the arena will be re-allocated on a priority point basis. Fans earn priority points based on consecutive years of season-ticket purchase and donations.
The deadline for season ticket purchase is December 1, after which all remaining seats will go on sale as individual-game tickets. Season-ticket holders will have priority to place orders for individual game tickets prior to tickets going on sale to the general public.
Season tickets are still available at all price levels, including Tyee 350, Tyee 150 and Public. Tyee 350 and 150 donors receive additional benefits, including post-season ticket opportunities.
Single-game tickets for all non-conference games except Gonzaga will go on sale on November 1. If single-game tickets for Gonzaga and any Pac-10 games remain after all season tickets have been allocated and all individual game orders placed by season ticket holders have been filled, they will go on sale on December 1.
For fans without season tickets, the best chance to see the men's basketball team will be in the season-opening Black Coaches Association Classic on November 13-15. Tickets to this event are not included in the season-ticket package and are on sale now.
The BCA Classic is an eight-team tournament, featuring 12 games in three days. Participating teams include Washington, Air Force, Miami, Morgan State, Northern Arizona, North Carolina-Greensboro, Texas-Arlington and Wisconsin-Green Bay. All-session passes, which include admission to all twelve games, are only $60 each. Single-session tickets, which include two games each, are available for $10 and $25.
