Seattle - Washington sophomore wide receiver Reggie Williams has been named a first-team All-American by Collegefootballnews.com. It marks the fourth time this year that Williams has been honored as an All-American. He was also a first-team selection by the Football Writers of America Association and ESPN.com and was a second-team pick by CNNSI.com.
Williams led Washington in 2002 with 89 receptions for 1390 yards. Both marks were Husky single-season records. Williams ranked fifth in the nation in receiving yards per game (115.8) and is eighth in receptions per game (7.42). During his first two seasons as a Husky he has already set UW career records for receptions (144) and receiving yards (2,363).
Williams is the first Husky wide receiver to earn first-team All-America honors since Jerome Pathon was named to the America Football Coaches Association team in 1997.
Collegefootballnews.com listed Washington junior quarterback Cody Pickett as an honorable mention All-American. The on-line media outlet ranked Pickett as the No. 5 quarterback in the nation this season.
