SEATTLE - Husky fans will have the opportunity to meet their favorite University of Washington football, volleyball and soccer players at the annual Picture Day activities on Saturday, August 12 on the turf at Husky Stadium.
The UW athletic ticket office will also be conducting a special Select-A-Seat event beginning at 12:30 in the East end zone. The event is designed to provide an opportunity for potential season and three game mini-plan ticket purchasers to visit the stadium and see first-hand which seats are available and check out the view from the various vantage points. "Picture Day is a great opportunity for our players and the community to have a chance to know each other," said Husky head football coach Tyrone Willingham. "This is always a fun event for our players and it gives them a chance to see what great support we receive from our loyal Husky fans."
While supplies last, free Pepsi and hotdogs will be available for Husky fans attending the event. Everyone in attendance will be able to pick up the official 2006 UW football, soccer and volleyball schedule posters.
Younger Husky fans will be able to register for the highly-popular Junior Husky Club at the event. The $15 membership fee provides free and discounted tickets to selected events, an official club t-shirt and other great benefits.
Husky Stadium gates 1-33 around the North end of the stadium will be open beginning at 12:30 p.m. and free parking is available beginning at that time in all adjacent lots off Montlake Blvd.
The UW football team opens its season at home against San Jose State on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 12:30 p.m. Season, group and single-game tickets are on sale by calling the athletic ticket office at 206/543-2200 or by visiting www.GoHuskies.com.
The defending NCAA champion volleyball team opens its home schedule in Bank of America Arena on Sept. 7 when it hosts the annual Husky Classic. Season tickets, including general admission and reserved seating, as well as single match tickets are on sale through the athletic ticket office.
The Husky men's soccer team opens its season on Friday, August 25 at 7 p.m. against UC Davis at the Husky Soccer Stadium, while the women host the Husky Invitational Sept. 1-3.
