SEATTLE - The 2013 IRA National Championships will be held the weekend of Friday, May 31st to Sunday, June 2nd at Lake Natoma in California, modifying the traditional schedule of Thursday-Saturday to give spectators a chance to catch more of the competitive racing with the semi-finals on Saturday and finals on Sunday. The championships only come to the West Coast once every four years, so Husky fans on this side of the country have a shorter distance to travel to help cheer on Husky men's crew as they try to win their 3rd straight IRA National Championship and their 4th in the last 5 years.
The women will head to the Midwest for the 2013 NCAA Women's Rowing Championship Regatta at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, Ind., also the weekend of May 31st-June 2nd. The championships were originally scheduled to be held at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Ga. You can find more information about the change in venue here.
Husky Crew Varsity Eight will begin their 2013 campaign with a trip to London for a showdown with historic Cambridge on Saturday, February 16th. The 2013 officially kicks off for both crews with the Class Day Regatta on March 30th on the Montlake Cut.
