Seattle - Event promoter, Bob Walsh Enterprises (BWE), is offering a special "Military Appreciation" discount to all active duty, reserve, National Guard, retired military members and their dependents for the 2005 Season Opener, Air Force vs. Washington. It will be a home game for Air Force, right here in Seattle at Qwest Field on September 3. Kickoff is set for 12:30 pm. "We want to provide every opportunity we can to make sure that the home team has a good showing of northwest fans," said BWE President, Bob Walsh.
The Military Appreciation Discount provides a savings of $15 or $20 per ticket. A $40 ticket is being offered at $25, and a $55 ticket is being offered at $35. Offer good through September 2.
In addition to a great football game, there will be a free Season Kickoff /Tailgate Party in Qwest Event Center that starts prior to kickoff at 9:30 a.m. Guests will be entertained by Air Force's highly regarded band, Blue Steel, both teams' cheer squads and UW's pep band. A Beer garden and full concessions will be available.
Pre-game will include an Air Force Fly-over, a presentation of colors by McChord's Honor Guard, and an a cappella performance National Anthem sung by Blue Steel.
Half-time will include a live performance by the Academy's mascot, the Falcon, an enlistment ceremony, and an Air Force Honor Guard demonstration.
At the conclusion of the game, Blue Steel will perform a 30-minute post game concert in the south end zone. Blue Steel's music encompasses styles ranging from rhythm and blues to top-40, classic rock, contemporary jazz and country. Its seven performers are some of the most versatile musicians in America.
Military Appreciation Discount is only valid for walk-up purchase through September 2 at Ticketmaster outlets or at Qwest Field Box Office with active duty, reserve, National Guard, retired military member or military dependent photo ID.
