SEATTLE - After each win, Coach Tyrone Willingham and the Husky football coaching staff will name the Huskies' Pepsi Players of the Game for that week's performance. The winners following the UW's 29-19 win over UCLA are receiver Sonny Shackelford, cornerback Roy Lewis, linebacker Chris Stevens, linebacker Matt Houston, defensive end Darrion Jones and fullback Paul Homer.
Shackelford, a senior from Los Angeles, set new career highs for receptions and touchdowns, catching nine balls for 120 yards and two touchdowns. He scored on the Huskies' final drive of the first half and first drive of the second half as the UW came back from a 16-0 deficit.
Lewis, a junior from Los Angeles, finished the game with nine tackles, including an eight-yard quarterback sack. The Husky defense limited UCLA to one touchdown and three field goals on the Bruins' five trips inside the Huskies' red zone.
Stevens, a sophomore from Mojave, Calif., was recognized for his work on special teams. An outside linebacker who also serves on most of the Huskies' kick, punt and return units finished the game with two tackles.
Houston, a freshman from Goleta, Calif., Jones, a sophomore from Lynwood, Calif., and Homer, a freshman from Omaha, Neb., were honored for their work on the Huskies' service teams.
