Brent Lillibridge, a freshman on the University of Washington baseball team, has been named first-team Freshman All-America by Baseball America, the magazine announced today.

Lillibridge, who spent the 2003 season as the Huskies' starting center fielder, batted .388 with 13 home runs, a UW freshman record. He was among the Pac-10 leaders in hitting and spent much of the year at the top of the Pac-10 slugging percentage rankings despite being 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds.

A graduate of Jackson High School in Everett, Lillibridge is currently playing summer ball for the Seattle Studs in the Pacific International League, but will take part in the USA National Team trials, which begin next week in Tucson.

Lillibridge was one of four Pac-10 players named to the first team. USC catcher Jeff Clement, Arizona third baseman Brad Boyer and Stanford starting pitcher Mark Romanczuk also made the list. All four were named first-team All-Pac-10.

Unlike Collegiate Baseball magazine, which named 98 players to its freshman All-America team, Baseball America lists only one player per position on its first team, for a total of 15 selections. The complete first team:
