WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington defensive lineman Danny Shelton was named to the Pac-12's All-Academic football first team, the conference office announced today. Four other Huskies earned academic honorable mention.

Shelton, a sophomore from Auburn, Wash., boasts a 3.47 grade point average as an anthropology major. He's started all 11 games for the Huskies this season, compiling 36 tackles thusfar.

The four Washington players who earned honorable mention are senior fullback Jonathan Amosa (Seattle, Wash.), sophomore wide receiver DiAndre Campbell (Oakland, Calif.), redshirt-freshman linebacker Travis Feeney (Richmond, Calif.) and sophomore linebacker John Timu (Long Beach, Calif.).

The Huskies (7-4) conclude the 2012 regular season this Friday when they take on Washington State in the annual Apple Cup at 12:30 p.m. in Pullman.
