Matt Hague has been named a preseason third-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball, the newspaper announced today.
Hague, a junior third baseman from Kentwood High in Kent, Wash., was the lone Husky to make the list. At the end of last season, Hague was named a third-team All-American by the same publication after batting .381 with six home runs and 45 runs batted in.
After spending his first two seasons in the outfield, Hague will move to third base for the start of the 2007 season, which opens Feb. 17 at Cal Poly.
Entering the season, Hague has the highest career batting average in Husky history with a .394 career batting average.
Collegiate Baseball also announced its preseason top 40 Friday. The Huskies weren't ranked, but did fall in the "others receiving votes" category.
