Trent Baysinger, a senior to be on the Washington baseball team, has been named the Pacific International League's Player of the Week for the week of for the week of June 22- 29, the league office announced yesterday.
Baysinger, playing his summer ball for the Wenatchee Applesox, took a no-hitter into the ninth inning of a 9-0 win against Yakima last Sunday. Despite surrendering a leadoff single in the ninth, he finished the game with a one-hit shuout, allowing only one walk while striking out 14.
For the season, Baysinger, from Moscow, Idaho, and Walla Walla CC, has a 3-0 record and a 0.41 earned run average in three starts. He's allowed only one run on 11 hits all season while striking out 24 in 22.0 innings.
