SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Washington football team held its first practice Friday in San Diego in preparation for next week's Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl vs. Nebraska.

The team arrived at Torero Stadium on the University of San Diego campus before noon and held a usual, Monday-style practice. Upon returning to the team hotel, a group of red-coated committee members from the Holiday Bowl were on hand, along with a mariachi band, to greet the team and staff officially.

The players and staff are mostly on their own for Christmas Eve. On Saturday the team will once again practice in the early afternoon and the day will end with an official team dinner, hosted by the Holiday Bowl, in the team hotel.
