Box Score

SEATTLE - Konner Wade pitched a complete game for Arizona and the 13th-ranked Wildcats beat the Huskies, 4-1, at Husky Ballpark in front on 518 fans on Saturday.

The Huskies jumped on Wade in the first inning to take the 1-0 lead, but were shut down after that. Jayce Ray led off the game with an infield single to second, was sacrificed to second and scored on a solid single to center by Jacob Lamb.

After the first, Wade (5-1) was outstanding for the Wildcats. He gave up just 6 hits - all singles - and struck out seven Husky batters and walked just one.

Wade's complete game came on the heels of Kurt Heyer's nine-inning gem in Arizona's 10-2 win on Friday.

Husky starter Tyler Davis pitched 4 1/3 solid innings before Arizona was able to chase him from the game. He allowed runners to get into scoring position in the second, third and fourth innings but was able to wiggle out of the jam each time before the Wildcats got to him in the fifth. Alex Mejia greeted Husky reliever Tyler Kane with a RBI single to tie the game, but Kane limited the damage there when he got Arizona clean-up hitter Robert Refsnyder to ground into a double play.

Davis allowed just one earned run on three hits, one walk and he struck out two.

The Wildcats broke through and took the 2-1 lead in the sixth inning when Seth Mejias-Brean led off the inning with a double off Kane, was sacrificed to third and scored on a single up the middle against a drawn-in Husky infield. Kane (2-1) took the loss for the Huskies.

Arizona added a pair of runs in the seventh on RBI doubles by Johnny Field and Robert Refsnyder. Joey Rickard led off the inning with a single, stole second and scored on Field's hit. Refsnyder drove in Field with gapper into left-centerfield.

Freshman Branden Berry was the only Husky with multiple hits, going 2-for-3.

The Huskies wrap up the three-game series on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Husky Ballpark.
