WASHINGTON HEAD COACH June Daugherty
General Comments : "This was a great win. We really wanted to get back to our old selves, and come out with a tremendous amount of energy and tempo. That was a lot of fun today."
On the good attendance: "Today was a great statement about our city. This town has such a passion about women's basketball. Hats off to our fans; we really saw their true colors today. I think I might have seen a couple leaving early, but we'll forgive them. A lot stayed."
On whether the team is back in the Pac-10 race: "I don't think we were ever out. Everyone's had such great energy, and there was just so much passion on the floor today. The kids are playing hard, and having fun. That was great to see."
On whether that play can be bottled for USC and UCLA: "I tell the team all that time that we have to pack our defense and rebounding for road trips. Those are things you have to do well to win away from home, so hopefully we can pack those and take them with s to L.A.."
GUARD Kristen O'Neill
On the fans: "Our fans are awesome."
On the team's quick start: "We were still hungry after our loss to ASU. We've just been working so hard all week, so it was great to go out and execute the way we did, and have fun. We were trying to play hard on defense, to get into the passing lanes and let our defense create our offense."
CENTER Andrea Plouffe
On hot start to the second half: "We just wanted to keep pushing, and finish the game out, and not let them come back."
