Washington sophomore men's golfers Joe Panzeri and Sterling Clark are tied for 15th at 1-over 145 after two rounds at the Duck Invitational. The Huskies have four golfers participating as individuals at the event, under the direction of assistant coach Jon Reehoorn, while the rest of the team competes at the National Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.
Panzeri shot 1-under 71 in the morning, good for seventh place after the first round, before carding a 2-over 74 in round two. Clark turned in a 1-over 73 in round one before shooting even-par 72 in the afternoon. Fellow Husky sophomore Zach Bixler is two strokes back, in 26th at 3-over 147, after shooting 75 and 72 in the first and second rounds, respectively. Senior Seth Yates carded an 80 in round one and a 73 in round two, entering the clubhouse in 51st at 9-over 153.
Washington State's Ryan Witz leads the player leader board at 5-under 139. The team competition, which the Huskies are not participating in, is headed by San Diego State at 10-under 566.
The third and final round of the Duck Invitational begins tomorrow 8 a.m. (PT).
