SPOKANE, Wash. - UW starter Forrest Snow held Gonzaga to one run on three hits over his five innings of work and Adrian Gomez and Jacob Clem combined for four innings of scoreless relief to lead the Washington baseball team to a 3-1 win Tuesday night at the Patterson Sports Complex.

Washington (15-11 on the season) won its eighth game in the last nine while Gonzaga dropped to 11-16.

Snow (3-0) struck out six and walked only one as he pitched into the sixth inning. Gomez followed with two and two-thirds scoreless innings of relief, striking out five.

Clem pitched the final inning and a third to earn his second save.

Gonzaga starter Liam Baron (0-3), who only gave up one earned run and walked only one in seven and two-thirds innings, suffered the loss.

Washington scored in the second to take a 1-0 lead. After Jake Lamb reached on an error, he eventually came in to score on a single from Troy Scott.

In the third, the Huskies added another. David Bentrott led off with a single. After advancing on a bunt and a groundout, he scored on a single from Caleb Brown, making it a 2-0 lead.

Washington added one more in the sixth when Scott reached on an error and eventually came into to score on a Sean Meehan single.

Gonzaga was limited to just one hit through the first six innings and didn't post a run until Ernesto Ortiz led off the sixth with a homer to left, his second of the season. After a single and a hit batter, Snow was relieved by Gomez, who induced a double play and a flyout to end the threat with the Huskies still on top, 3-1.

Brown, Scott and Russell each notched two hits to lead the Husky offense.

The Huskies and Bulldogs play again Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. This weekend, the Huskies host Arizona in a three-game, Pac-10 series at Husky Ballpark.
