SEATTLE (AP) - Angelina Wolvert's short banker with 11.3 seconds remaining capped a 9-0 Oregon scoring run in the final three minutes, lifting the Oregon Ducks to a 70-69 victory over Washington in Pac-10 action Sunday afternoon.
Oregon's defense did not allow the Huskies to get off a good shot during their final possession. Julia Gray heaved a desperation 35-footer that missed as time expired.
Shaquala Williams scored 20 points and Wolvert added 13 for Oregon (19-6, 10-3 Pac-10).
There were four lead changes and four ties in the second half before Washington used a late run to take an eight-point lead.
LeAnn Sheets' putback banker with 3:52 remaining in the game capped the Husky run and put Washington up 69-61. But those were the final points scored by Washington.
Nicole Strange scored four points and Jamie Craighead added three to start the Ducks' decisive game-ending streak.
The Ducks have won nine straight over Washington.
The Huskies have lost four straight games and 13 of their last 16.
Both teams were without their leading scorers for much of the game's final minutes. Williams fouled out with 6:50 remaining and Washington's Megan Franza left the game at 3:19 remaining with a bloody nose caused by an elbow from Craighead. Franza did not return until the game's final minute.
Sloppy ballhandling and passing plagued Oregon in the first half. The Ducks had 17 turnovers by halftime, and had a season-worst 26 overall.
The largest lead of the first half for either team came when Payne's 3-pointer 14:39 into the game put Washington up 29-23.
The Huskies led 36-34 at haltime.
