SEATTLE -- The University of Washington men's and women's basketball teams will host a Husky Basketball Rally on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. in the Seattle Center House.
Players and coaches from the Husky basketball teams will be available for autographs and photo opportunities from 1 until 3 p.m. Harry the Husky, Washington's basketball mascot will also be on hand.
Basketball hoops of various heights will be set up inside the Center House, enabling fans to shoot baskets with the Huskies.
Free schedule posters, pocket schedules and other University of Washington items will be distributed.
The Huskies will be getting a preview of their home-away-from home as all of Washington's basketball games this season will be played at the Seattle Center due to the renovation of Hec Edmundson Pavilion. The Huskies will return to their on-campus arena for the 2000-2001 basketball season.
All 13 Husky men's basketball home games will be played at KeyArena, beginning with the regular-season home opener against Gonzaga on Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
The Washington women will play five games at KeyArena and nine games at Mercer Arena. The regular-season home opener for the UW women's team is Nov. 23 against Brigham Young. Tip-off is 7 p.m. at Mercer Arena.
