Washington Coach June Daugherty: Megan (Franza) and Loree (Payne) have put this team on their back and carried this team all year. We've got to get more consistent and I think LeAnn (Sheets) will be the answer. Our perimeter has played well. We've got to grow inside and get that one-two punch. There's no quit in this team. A lot of teams would have quit on this year. The off-season starts right now and were excited to get to work on it.
Washington guard Megan Franza: We fought hard. We played a great first half again but now it's time to start building for next year. Everybody is excited about the recruits and everybody is excited about the people who are already here.
Washington guard Loree Payne: We came out with a really good start in the second half and then things just didn't go our way as the half progressed. We've lost a lot but we played with heart.
UCLA Coach Kathy Olivier: At the half, I thought we were playing well. We wanted to stay with what we were doing. Defensively, we wanted to get our hands in their faces and put the ball on the floor. We were just focusing on this weekend and not really concerned with the tournament seedings. It's pretty clear were not at home, but we are playing good ball at the right time of the year. Maylana Martin is team oriented and her team was enthusiastic about her going for the Pac-10 scoring record.
Washington is a young team and we won't be looking forward to playing them next year. Payne is a great player. It's great when a freshman is leading the way. Franza is also doing good things for the team.
UCLA Forward Maylana Martin: I didn't know I was that close to the (Pac-10 scoring) record. I got rattled when I realized I was 6 points away. My team really got behind me and that means a lot to me. They were totally selfless.
