THIS WEEK: The Washington baseball team (25-23 overall, 7-11 Pac-10), winner of 11 of its last 14 games, makes it first-ever trip to Packard Stadium this weekend as the Huskies take on No. 4 Arizona State (37-12, 12-6) in a three-game Pac-10 series, the final road games of the season for the Huskies. Washington had never played the Sun Devils prior to 1998, and all six UW-ASU games since then have come at Husky Ballpark. Friday and Saturday's games both begin at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday's finale starts at 1:00 p.m. All three games can be heard live in the Seattle area on KKOL AM-1300. Next week, the Huskies close out the regular season with five home games. Gonzaga comes to Husky Ballpark Tuesday and Wednesday night and No. 24 USC comes to Seattle for the first time since 1971 next weekend. Here's a look at this weekend's games, with probable Husky starting pitchers:

SERIES HISTORY: Washington is 3-3 all-time against Arizona State, with all six games taking place at Husky Ballpark. In 1998, the Huskies took two of three in a non-conference series, winning 8-6 and 7-6 before losing 7-6 in game three. In the second game of that series, the Huskies trailed 6-2 going into the eighth, but solo homers by Ryan Lentz and Ed Erickson in the eighth and a three-run HR from Lentz in the ninth gave Washington the win. Last season, ASU won two of three in a Pac-10 series. Washington won the opener 5-3, before losing 7-6 in 12 innings Saturday and 13-8 on Sunday. Erickson has started all six games of the series, and has batted 9-for-25 (.360) with three home runs and eight runs batted in. Matt Hollod is 4-for-10 with three RBI in three games and Todd Linden is 4-for-12 (.333) against the Devils.
COACH "K": In seven-plus seasons as the head coach of his alma mater, Ken Knutson has led the Dawgs to two Pac-10 championships, four Pac-10 Northern Division titles, two second-place finishes and three NCAA Regionals. His career overall record stands at 284-178 (.615). With those 284 wins, he is the second-winningest coach in UW history, trailing only Bob MacDonald (422). Before becoming the Husky head man in 1993, Knutson served as the Husky pitching coach for eight seasons. In 1985, his UW pitching staff led the nation with a 2.80 ERA. Knutson holds a 138-47 (.746) record in home games. He is 130-74 (.637) in conference games, the highest mark (percentage-wise) of any active Pac-10 coach. A 1981 All-Pac-10 left-handed pitcher at the UW, he is joined by assistant coaches Joe Ross, Ed Gustafson, and Joe Weis.
