EUGENE, Ore. -- The Washington women's tennis team extended their win-streak to eight with a 9-0 win over Oregon. This marks the Huskies' sixth shut-out of the season and improves their record to 9-2. The Huskies are ranked 61st by the latest ITA poll.
The Huskies were led by No.1 singles player Kristina Kraszewski. The freshman, ranked 36th by the latest ITA poll, defeated Oregon's Alina Wygonowska 6-4, 7-5. This win gives Kraszewski a nine-game winning streak and raises her record to 19-4.
Other Husky win-streaks that were extended today are owned by sophomores Zuzana Stunova and Zeta Wagner. Stunova, ranked 31st in the nation, defeated Oregon's Andrea Petrovic 6-0, 6-3 in No.2 singles to raise her streak to seven. Stunova carries a 19-5 overall record. In No. 5 singles, Wagner won by default due to an injury suffered by Allison Sosnow. Wagner remains undefeated in dual- match play with a win-streak of eleven and a 13-4 overall record.
The Huskies have the next two weeks off due to finals. They will return the weekend of Mar. 21-22 to face Northern Arizona and Arizona State.
