LOS ANGELES (AP) - Jeff Trepagnier scored a career-high 28 points and Brian Scalabrine added 23 as Southern California routed Washington 90-71 on Thursday.
Trepagnier, who had seven rebounds, made 13-of-18 shots to lead the Trojans (15-14, 8-9 Pacific 10). Heeding head coach Henry Bibby's call for tighter defense earlier this week, USC held Washington to 42 percent shooting and forced 19 Huskies turnovers.
Deon Luton led Washington (10-19, 5-12) with 19 points, including three 3-pointers.
Up 46-31 at halftime, USC slowly extended their lead and went up 74-47 after a basket and free throw by Rashad Jones with 9:08 remaining.
USC went on a 15-4 run early in the first half to take a 20-13 lead. Luton ended the Huskies scoring drought by hitting a 3-pointer with 10:48 to play in the half. Washington made a total of 10-of-23 three-point shots.
The Trojans went on another 18-5 run late in the first half to extend their lead going into halftime.
USC's win completed a season sweep of the Huskies. The Trojans won the previous meeting 81-79 in overtime.
Sam Clancy continued his slow return to the lineup for the Trojans after breaking his right foot Jan. 20 against Arizona State. Clancy finished the night with nine points and three rebounds.
