UW Finishes Eighth in California Collegiate

STANFORD, Calif. -- The Washington women's golf team fired a 317 in the final round of the Peg Barnard California Collegiate to finish in seventh place overall. The Huskies carded a two round team score of 637 in the 36-hole tournament. USC won team title with 601.

The Huskies were led by the sophomore Andrea Cordova who carded a 78 on Sunday to finish with 157 for the tournament, in a tie for 20th. Freshman Elisha Au was just one stroke back at 158. Both players posted scores in the 70s for both rounds of the tournament. Paola Bellotti finished with 159, tied for 29th. Oregon's Anika Heuser won the tournament with a one-over-par 147 after carding an even-par 73 on Sunday.

The Huskies next action will be in the Pac-10 Championships on April 21-23, at the Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.
