BURNABY, B.C. -- Washington freshman sprint sensation Ja'Warren Hooker will compete against a world-class 100-meter field and run a leg for the Huskies' 400-meter relay team Sunday in the Harry Jerome Track Classic at Swanguard Stadium.

Hooker, who is undefeated in nine 100-meter races during the outdoor track & field season, competes against Olympians Dennis Mitchell and Leroy Burrell from the United States along with Robert Esmie and Glenroy Gilbert from Canada. World record holder Donovan Bailey is another possible entrant in the elite 100-meter field.

A product of Ellensburg (Wash.) High School, Hooker owns the Washington school record in the 100 meters with a time of 10.18.

The Husky 4 x 100 relay team of Hooker, Willem Ryan, Tyler Rose and B.J. Dawson, competes against a Canadian squad that features three-fourths of the gold medal quartet that upset the U.S. National Team during the 1996 Olympic Games. Bailey is joined on that relay unit by Canadian teammates Bruny Surin and Gilbert. Another standout relay entry includes Mitchell, Burrell and Esmie.
