HAVANA, Cuba - Ciudad Havana's Michael Rodriguez homered five times, including a grand slam, as the Cuban professional team defeated the University of Washington 14-7 in Havana. The Huskies dropped to 2-1 on the five-game trip to Cuba.
Ben Miller and Tyler Davidson continued to carry the hot bats for the Huskies. Miller drove in four runs, three coming on a bases-loaded double in the third inning, while Davidson collected two hits for the second-straight day. The Huskies failed to homer in a game for the first time on the trip.
The Huskies play Ciudad Havana again Tuesday before playing a split-squad game on Wednesday. In that contest, the two teams will consist of half Huskies and half Cubans. The team returns to Seattle early on the morning of Friday, Sept. 8.
