Husky Men's Golf In Fifth At Windon Memorial

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Washington men's golf team stands in fifth place after two rounds of play at the Windon Memorial Classic at Conway Farms Golf Club. The Huskies have a 36-hole team total of 585.

Stanford, winner of the Husky Invitational last week at Trophy Lake, is the current leader of the 15-team tournament with a total of 576. One stroke back is Kent (577), followed by USC (580) and Toledo (584).

Northwestern's Luke Donald, the defending NCAA champion, is the individual leader after shooting 71-67--138 on the par-71 course. He carries a three stroke lead over Stanford's Alex Aragon and Ben Curtis of Kent. Husky senior Scott Kral is the leader for Washington, in a tie for fourth place after shooting two rounds of even par (71-71--142). Troy Kelly (73-71) and Gordy Scutt (71-73) follow in 12th place after they both carded 144 for the day.

The tournament concludes Tuesday with a final 18 holes, beginning at 8 a.m. CST.
