FRESNO, CA -- The Washington women's tennis team upset 29th-ranked Fresno State 5-4 Monday afternoon to improve their record to 3-2. The Huskies are currently ranked 61st by the latest ITA poll.
Husky freshman Kristina Kraszewski, currently ranked 34th in the nation, upset 15th-ranked Dora Djilianova 6-3, 7-6 in No. 1 singles play. This win raises Kraszewski's overall record to 13-4.
Washington's Zuzana Stunova, ranked 27th in the nation, defeated No.40 Leisl Fichtbauer 6-4, 6-4. Stunova's overall record is 13-5.
Stunova teamed with Kraszewski to post the only doubles win. The duo defeated Fresno State's tandem of Renee Kops-Jones and Pallo 8-4 in No.2 doubles to raise their record to 3-2.
The Huskies resume play in two weeks when they host Nevada, Loyola Marymount, and Portland at the UW Invitational Feb. 20-22.
