Seattle, WA - The Washington women's tennis team posted a 9-0 win over Nevada in this weekend's opening match. This marks the third straight win for the Huskies and improves their record to 4-2. The Huskies are ranked 61st by the latest ITA poll.
The Huskies were led by 36th-ranked Kristina Kraszewski. The freshman, playing the No.1 singles slot, defeated Nevada's Leanne Maitland 6-3, 7-5. This win gives Kraszewski a four-game winning streak and raises her record to 14-4. Husky sophomore Zuzana Stunova, ranked 31st by the latest ITA poll, had a 6-2, 6-2 win over Nevada's Carol Evans in No.2 singles. Stunova is riding a three-game winning streak and carries a 14-5 overall record.
The Huskies face Loyola Marymount tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. and play Portland on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. All matches are played at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center.
