SEATTLE - After a stellar summer with the Corvallis Knight of the West Coast League, Huskies pitcher Brandon Choate was named second team All-WCL.

Choate, who will be a senior this year at Washington, saved nine games for the Knights and had an ERA of 1.11. The right-hander was second in the league in saves and allowed just three earned runs in 24 and 1/3 innings of work. He helped the Knights reach the championship tournament where they ended up second behind Bellingham.

Choate was also second team for the Knights in 2013.

Washington boasted one of the best bullpens in the nation in 2014, a year in which the Huskies won 41 games, played in the NCAA Regionals and saw a school-record eight players selected in the MLB June Draft. Choate was an important member of the bullpen, going 4-1 in 21 games with a 2.54 ERA.
