High School and Personal:
Born in Anchorage, Alaska … parents are Robin and William Black … has one younger brother, Jarrod … the Washington 2A state pole vault champion as a senior in 2014 … jumped a PR of 15-6 to win the Northwest Conference title and then matched that at the state meet … also finished fifth in the pole vault at state as a junior and fourth as a sophomore … named a Whatcom All-County Athlete in 2013 and 2014 … also lettered three years in football and four years in wrestling … won 2012 wrestling Hardest Worker award and the 2014 Phil Millard Character Award in football … an Eagle Scout … graduated with a 3.72 GPA.
