WALNUT CREEK, Calif. –Softball player Kaitlin Inglesby and rower Sam Dommer were announced as Washington’s recipients of the 2013-14 Pac-12 Tom Hansen Conference Medal. The Conference Medal is awarded annually to each member institution’s outstanding senior male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership.
Inglesby earned first-team NFCA Division I All-Pacific Region and was named to the All-Pac-12 second team in 2014. She also earned Academic All-Pac-12 honorable mention. She was a top-10 finalist for the Senior CLASS Award and was named to the preseason watch list for the USA Softball Player of the Year.
Dommer served as the seventh set on the Men’s Varsity 8 crew that rowed to the team’s fifth-straight IRA National Championship on June 1. He was the 2014 UW Male Top Dawg Award Winner and was first team All-Pac-12 and first team All-Pac-12 Academic.
Conference medal winners have been named every year since the 1960-61 academic year. In 2009, the Pac-12 renamed the award the Tom Hansen Conference Medal in honor of Hansen, who retired at the end of June 2009 after serving for 26 years as Commissioner of the Pac-10.
