PULLMAN, Wash. - Junior Nick Pfeiffer completed his first Pac-12 decathlon today, moving up a couple places to take 10th overall with a score of 6,711 points. Pfeiffer had three new career-bests out of the five events today at Mooberry Field.
Entering the day 12th after Saturday's first five events, Pfeiffer moved up a couple spots with PRs in the 110m hurdles, the javelin throw, and the 1,500-meter run. In the hurdles, he ran 15.93 seconds for 741 points. He then threw 119-1 in the discus, and tied for second overall in the pole vault with a clearance of 14-9.
In the javelin, Pfeiffer threw 142-3, a PR by nearly five feet. He then finished fourth overall in the final 1,500-meter run in 4:40.27 for 679 points, another PR by over three seconds. Pfeiffer's career-best decathlon score of 6,840 was set earlier this season at the Mt. SAC Relays.
Oregon's Dakotah Keys won the men's decathlon title with 7,801 points. The Huskies will be off to Pullman next weekend for the Pac-12 Championships on May 17-18.
