Who is an athlete you try to emulate?
I try to emulate Eric Gehrke, my old High School Rowing coach, who previously rowed for Boston College. He helped me become the coxswain that I am now and pushed me to go farther than I ever thought I could. I want to be a rowing coach someday because of how well he taught me.
What is your favorite class you have taken at UW?
My favorite class is probably my current public speaking class. I think speaking is the skill that I have that has branched most from being a coxswain, and I really enjoy speaking to large groups.
What is your favorite memory as a Husky?
My favorite memory as a Husky is the Apple Cup. It was the most fun I've had at any of the UW football games and I loved the environment there.
What is your rowing background? What other sports have you played?
I coxed for my high school for all four years fall through spring, then I coxed for the last three summers of high school at various clubs, one of which was a U.S. National Development Team.
If you could be an athlete in another sport, what sport would it be?
If I had to do another sport I think it'd be cross country or track & field. I have always enjoyed running and I consider myself a pretty strong runner, especially for my size.
