Played defensive tackle, tight end and running back in high school ... graduated from Tumwater in 2013 and did not attend college in 2013-14, until enrolling for the start of spring quarter on March 31, 2014 ... first-team AP all-state and 2A Evergreen Conference Defensive MVP as a senior in 2012, when he was also named to the Olympian and Tacoma News-Tribune all-area teams ... helped lead Thunderbirds to a 12-2 record and the 2A state championship game as a senior ... named the defensive MVP of the Earl Barden Classic, the state's 2A/1A/B all-star game following senior season ... first-team all-state selection, Olympia all-area and first-team all-league as a junior in 2011, when Tumwater went 7-2 and earned a berth in the state playoffs ... as a sophomore in 2010, helped lead the Thunderbirds to a 12-1 overall record and the 2A state championship ... also a basketball player in high school ... played football for legendary coach Sid Otton at Tumwater.
