2014 (Cross Country): Showed a lot of improvement and earned a spot at her first career Pac-12 Championships … at Pac-12s in Oakland, placed 47th overall and eighth among Huskies in 21:24 … was the team’s alternate when it traveled to the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, finishing 23rd … ran well in the B-race at the Wisconsin Invitational, finishing 12th overall … was 62nd overall, eighth on the squad, at the inaugural Washington Invitational … started the season with a 16th-place finish at the Sundodger Invitational, sixth among Huskies … was named a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
2013-14 (Track): Ran the middle to long distances in her first season on the team … ran at the UW-WSU Dual Meet, finishing 10th in the 3,000-meters in a time of 10:17.11 … set a 1,500-meter best at the Ken Shannon Invite, running 4:42.85 for eighth … ran a 5,000-meters at the Oregon Relays, crossing in 17:43.90 … indoors, had a best mile time of 5:06.14 at the UW Invitational, and a best 3,000-meters of 10:10.29 at the Husky Classic ... (Cross Country): Competed one time during the fall, running at the Emerald City Open where she finished 30th and fourth among Huskies ... walked on to the squad as a junior, after finishing 49th out of more than 200 runners in the women’s open race at the 2013 Sundodger Invitational.
High School and Personal: Born in Bellevue, Washington … parents are Sheri and Chris Sanders … older brother, Dan, was a letterwinner and Pac-12 scorer on the Husky track team graduating in 2013 … grandfather Bob Sanders ran track at UCLA … helped cross country team to a pair of top-10 finishes at state, and was a top-20 finisher at the KingCo Championships as a junior and senior … graduated with a 3.8 GPA … majoring in Economics and Law, Societies, and Justice.
