2014-15 (Sophomore): Went 2-4 in her singles matches this year.  Opened her season by defeating Kailyn Skjonsby of Seattle U (6-0, 6-1)...  Lost to Ole Miss’s Zalina Zhairudinova (6-4, 6-1)… Was defeated by Hawaii’s Rebecca Faltusz (6-1, 2-6, 6-4)…. Lost to Purdue’s Krisztina Kapitany in close matches (7-5, 6-4)… Her opponent forfeited at Winthrop, adding another win to her record… Her final loss of the season came against Alexia Petrovic of Utah (6-1, 6-4)…Made 11 appearances in doubles where her record was 5-6.  Competed in No.1 spot with Kobayashi to open the season where they defeated Lui/Woodman of Seattle (6-3)… Competed in the No. 2 spot with Kobayashi again against Ole Miss’s Jones/Suk where they lost (6-4)... They were defeated again in Hawaii against Malova/Petriskova (6-3)… Defeated by Suarez/Kapitany of Purdue (6-3)… Defeated Gunaysu/Humberg of Winthrop competing in the No.2 spot with Kobayashi… Competed in the No. 3 spot with Lukac where they defeated Markovic/Martin of Houston (6-3)… Defeated by Kucharova/de Man of Auburn in a close match (6-4)… Competed partnered with Ysidora where they defeated Johnson/Hoorn of SDSU (6-3).  Competed again with Lukac and had a defining victory against Marsh/Naslund of USD (6-0)… Competed in No. 2 doubles with Kobayashi to defeated Stoltanici/Bulatoviate from Sac State (7-4).  Was defeated by Biryukova/Matejevic of WSU (7-6) playing in No. 2 spot with Kobayashi… Defeated by Portland’s duo of Mladenovic/Van de Aarssen (6-4)… Defeated Boise State’s LaLone/Paules Aldrey when competing in No. 2 spot with Shimizu… Defeated by Ormeno Ruiz/Wojcik of Colorado (8-6)… Competed in No.3 spot with Allen and lost to Rosa/Najera of Utah.

2013-14 (Freshman): Made appearances in two singles play matches this season, competing at the six spot and finishing with an overall record of 1-1…picking up her defeat early in the season from Portland’s Katy Krauel, shutting her out with a 6-0, 6-0 win…competed in doubles play with both Andjela Nemcevic and Grace Ysidora…paired with Nemcevic, the duo finished with a record of 1-1, playing at the three spot, collecting their win from Pac-12 team #40 Arizona State with a score of 8-3…paired with Ysidora, the duo also finished 1-1 in doubles play, defeating #16 California’s pair of Durantau/Fabikova (6-5(5)).

PERSONAL: Daughter of Ping-Hong Chen (father) and Hui-Hsing Shih (mother)...has one brother, Zach, who is a senior at University of Washington in the Electrical Engineering program ... attended Newport High School ... named All-Kingco MVP for all 4 years ... placed 3rd in singles at the 2010 & 2011 WIAA 4A State tournament and placed 1st as a high school ... partnered with Amie Vo to win 2012 4A State tournament in doubles, and placed 2nd in singles in 2013 at the State tournament, 3rd as a team ... 4-star recruit on tennisrecruiting.net ... top ranked junior in the Pacific Northwest throughout middle and high school ... also a member of the swim team as a senior where the team won their first State title in 30 years ... major undeclared but considering studying bioengineering or possibly biochemistry ... born on January 27th, 1995.
