Stephanie Rempe was named senior associate director of athletics and senior woman administrator at the University of Washington in October, 2008. At UW her responsibilities include oversight of the men's basketball, softball, and gymnastics programs. She also has supervision of UW sports medicine.
She manages event operations, facilities, championships and capital projects. She is a member of the executive team charged with balancing the $76 million athletics program budget. Rempe also serves as a member of the Pac-12 council.
Under Rempe’s direction, department personnel oversaw construction of the $280 million Husky Stadium renovation, and developed and implemented new event management and operating procedures for the facility.
Rempe previously served on the University of Oklahoma athletics staff as an associate athletic director and the senior woman administrator in July of 2003 after spending five years in the same capacity at the University of Texas at El Paso. She was promoted to senior associate athletic director in 2006. While at Oklahoma, Rempe was the sport administrator for volleyball, men's basketball, men's and women's gymnastics, wrestling and softball. In her OU tenure, she also had oversight responsibilities for women's basketball, soccer, men's and women's cross country, indoor and outdoor track, the sports medicine program and the department's strength and conditioning program.
A recipient of a bachelor's degree in business administration from Arizona, Rempe later earned her master's degree from U of A in sports administration. She was a four-year letterwinner on the Arizona volleyball team. In 2004, she was inducted into the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Hall of Fame and received the Ye Ole' Gang award from Santa Barbara High School. In 2001 and 2006 she qualified for and competed in the Boston Marathon and in 2007 she placed second in the Redman Iron Distance Triathlon. Rempe is married to Greg Remien, and the couple has two children, Riley and Ryan.
