2014: Redshirted the season, competing unattached during the indoor season in the weight throw … best weight throw mark came at the UW Indoor Open, as he threw 49-5 ¾ to finish eighth.

High School and Personal:
Born in Portland, Oregon … parents are Peggy Maben and Kent Brosseau … youngest of four children, with older brothers Christopher and Brandon and older sister Morgan … named the 2013 Gatorade Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year for the state of Oregon on the strength of two state titles in the shot put and javelin and a third-place finish in the discus … also named the Athlete of the Year for track and field by the OSAA, the Oregon high school sports governing body … as a senior, he won the 6A state title in the javelin with a personal-best throw of 206-feet in just his third javelin competition of the season … also won the shot put state title as a senior with a toss of 55-4 in the finals, and was third in the discus throwing 147-0 … as a junior in 2012, he won his first shot put state title, capping an undefeated season in that event ... his shot put PR of 61-1 at the 2012 Oregon Relays ranked 28th nationally and sixth among non-seniors ... started his junior season off with a javelin mark of 194-7, but threw just twice more, focusing on the shot ... as a sophomore he was 12th in the shot at state and seventh in the javelin … also lettered four years in football … graduated with a 3.82 GPA … also considered Oregon, Boise State, and USC.
