Final Stats

SALT LAKE CITY - Utah (24-27, 7-15) pulled the 2-1 upset in the bottom of the seventh over No. 13/12 Washington to take game one of the three-game Pac-12 series.

Marissa Mendenhall hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh as Jackie Sweet scored the winning run from third after a leadoff triple.

Washington (34-14, 12-7) took a 1-0 lead with a solo home run by junior Hooch Fagaly (Chino, Calif.) in the first inning.

The Utes evened the game in the fifth with two singles, a sac bunt and Sweet scoring on a ground out.

The Huskies had six hits to just four for the Utes, led by junior Kelli Suguro (Kent, Wash.) with two.

Junior Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.) took the loss for the UW allowing two runs on four hits in the complete game. She is now 19-6 on the year.

Game two of the series is at 12 p.m. PT on Saturday.
