APPLE CUP TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION—NOVEMBER 29

Public Transportation

Overview
The Apple Cup on Friday, November 29th is on a holiday, which means the normal Park & Ride, Husky Special, and regular Metro Bus Transit routes used by Husky fans are not fully available. The normal Park & Ride bus service will be replaced with a special Apple Cup Shuttle Service that will operate in the same fashion but from different parking lots around King County. We request that all fans who wish to use the Apple Cup Shuttle Service register by clicking the link below and following the instructions. Changes to the Husky Special and regular Metro bus routes are also listed below.

On campus parking will be normal game day operations as the parking lots are not impacted by the holiday schedule.

Apple Cup Shuttle Service
Beginning November 1st,  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER and reserve your seat on a Shuttle Bus for the Apple Cup.

Before boarding the buses, fans must pay $5.00 to ride the Apple Cup Shuttle Service buses to Husky Stadium. Only credit cards are accepted. Fans do not need to pay for the return trip back to the parking lot.

Apple Cup Shuttle Service will drop off and pick up riders on Montlake Boulevard directly in front of Husky Stadium.

Regular Metro Transit service
Metro routes 43, 44, 48, 65, 75 and 271 will provide service to or near Husky Stadium via their regular routes.  There may be schedule delays due to traffic.

No Husky Special Service
There are no park and ride shuttles or other special service for the Apple Cup. Ride regularly scheduled Metro service to and from the Husky Stadium area and expect delays due to traffic.

From downtown Seattle, Husky fans can ride routes 71, 72 or 73 from Bay A in any Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel station, exit at the bus stop on NE Campus Pkwy at University Avenue NE and transfer to eastbound Route 44 to Husky Stadium.  After the game, fans can ride any bus or walk westbound on NE Pacific St back to Campus Pkwy and ride routes 71, 72 or 73 to downtown.

Husky fans from Ballard can ride Route 44 to its regular stop at the University of Washington Medical Center on NE Pacific St. After the game they can board Route 44 to Ballard westbound on NE Pacific St.

Whether traveling by car, RV, charter bus, public transit, bicycle, boat, or on your feet, Husky Stadium is one of the most accessible stadiums in the country. Tyee Parking
Tyee Club members are eligible to purchase 1 season parking per 1-4 tickets purchased. Members with more than 5 tickets can purchase 2 season parking passes. Contact the Tyee Club with any questions.

Public RV Parking
There is a limited number of general public RV parking permits available for each game. Permits must be purchased in advance by contacting the football transportation office. All public RV parking is available in the E1 parking lot.                   

Public Charter Bus Parking
There is a limited number of Charter Bus parking permits available for each game. Permits must be purchased in advance by contacting the football transportation office. All Charter Bus parking is available on Mason Road.

Public Disability Parking
There is a limited number of public disability parking permits available for advanced purchase. Permits must be purchased in advance by contacting the Football Transportation Office.

Non-Reserved Parking

General Public Disability Parking
General public disability parking is also available on a game-by-game basis in the E1 parking lot. To access the lot, please present a valid state issued disabled parking permit and/or a valid disabled driver license to the parking attendant. Dawg Sleds are available to drive fans from the parking lot to the stadium two hours prior to kickoff as well as after the game.

Park and Ride Bus Service

The South Kirkland Park and Ride will not operate at full capacity due to construction on August 31st.  Fans are encouraged to utilize the Houghton and Kingsgate Park and Ride lots as an alternative when the lot becomes full. Staff will be on-site to direct vehicles to Kingsgate and Houghton.

Fans must purchase a bus pass for each game to utilize the Husky Park and Ride Bus Service. Fans can buy a pass at each Park and Ride lot on game day for $5.00/game. Bus service begins approximately two hours prior to kickoff with 20-minute interval departures. Park and Ride bus service is available at the following locations:

*Please note that Transportation plans for the Apple Cup game vs. Washington State on Friday, 11/29 are still being developed, but the purchase of a season bus pass will include the Apple Cup game at no additional fee.

Regular Metro Bus Transit

Fans can utilize regular Metro bus routes to Husky Stadium and the U-District. Regular Metro routes 43, 44, 48, 65, 75, and 271 will continue to provide transportation to Husky Stadium. Riders will pay the regular route fare on all pre-game routes. For all other Metro bus information, please go to the King County Metro trip planner http://metro.kingcounty.gov/

Husky Special Bus Service

Husky Special bus service provides transportation along routes from Downtown Seattle, Ballard, and Lake City/Sandpoint. Husky Special Routes 715 and 725 will continue to provide transportation to Husky Stadium. Riders will pay the regular route fare on all pre-game routes. These buses begin operating approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes before kickoff. Please note Route 722 - Overlake will not operate in 2013 due to declining ridership. Fans are encouraged to use the Houghton or South Kirkland Park and Ride buses as an alternative.

Other Transit Options

Bike and Walk
Husky Stadium is located along the Burke-Gilman Trail, which runs from Ballard to Bothell and provides a safe, beautiful and easy route for Husky fans. Bike racks are conveniently located around Husky Stadium and the UW campus.

Bike Valet Program
For every home game, the UW will provide free bike valet parking on the Montlake Triangle, across Montlake Boulevard from the stadium. An attendant will park your bike and make sure it is safe during the game. The valet bicycle parking area opens three hours before kickoff and closes one hour after the game ends. Husky Harbor Boat Moorage

A long-standing and unique tradition for Husky fans is to arrive at Husky Stadium by way of boat. Season permits are available March 1st-June 1st and single game permits will become available starting June 2nd. Husky Harbor staff is on-site and available on game day to assist you with the moorage process. Permits must be purchased prior to day of game.

For boats choosing to anchor in the bay, a shuttle service will be available to transport fans from their boats to the dock for free. A shuttle ticket is required for the return trip and can be purchased at the Waterfront Activities Center office (WAC) for $10 per person (those under 12 are free of charge). Shuttles will be available 2-2 ½ hours prior to kickoff. Signal for a shuttle with your hands, life vest or boating flag. On game days that experience high boating volume, it is recommended to flag down a shuttle at least one hour prior to kickoff.

Charter boats are also an option for fans as a form of travel to Husky Stadium. They can be coordinated directly through the local charter companies.

Race viewing is generally done along the Montlake Cut. Anywhere along the cut provides excellent viewing of the races, but there are three popular areas:

  • North Side of Montlake Cut: Many fans gather on the grass southwest of the UW Medical Center for races.
  • Montlake Bridge: The bridge provides eastbound views of the start and westbound views of the finish line. Spectators should be aware of automobile traffic on this busy thoroughfare. The bridge is closed for the Windermere Cup. There are stairs down to the Cut on both ends of the bridge; stairs on the east side are at the south end of the bridge and stairs on the west side are at the north end of the bridge.
  • Canoe House: The Canoe House is located at the southeast corner of the E-12 parking lot behind the Climbing Rock.

Accessibility

Disability parking for Husky Volleyball is available in the following lot:

  • E-12:$15 cash on weekends; $7 after 5 p.m. and on Saturdays before noon; free on Sunday
    • Directions to E-12 from I-5: Take the NE 45th Street exit (exit #169). Turn eastbound onto NE 45th Street. Continue east about 4/10 mile to 15th Avenue NE. Turn right and drive south on 15th Avenue approximately six blocks to NE Pacific Street. Turn left onto NE Pacific Street. The road makes a "Y" at the next traffic-lighted intersection. Stay straight on NE Pacific Street. Proceed straight across Montlake Boulevard into the Sound Transit Construction roadway. The road curves to the right and then curves left into the E-12 parking lot.
    • Directions to E-12 from Highway 520: Take the Montlake Boulevard exit. Continue north on Montlake Boulevard, crossing the drawbridge. Turn right into the Sound Transit construction roadway adjacent to traffic light at NE Pacific Street. The road curves to the right and then curves left into the E-12 parking lot.
