2015 (Cross Country): Raced three times on the season … traveled to the Wisconsin Invitational and competed in the open race, finishing 21st overall in 21:24 … was ninth on the squad at the Washington Invitational, finishing 51st overall in 20:55 … started the year placing 50th at the Sundodger Invite in 22:40 … earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
2014-15 (Track): Competed at the NCAA Championships both indoors and out, and set school records in the 800-meters indoors and out ... reached the NCAA final site in the 800-meters for the second time outdoors, placing 13th overall in Eugene in a time of 2:05.33, and earning All-America Second Team honors ... lowered her own 800m school record in the quarterfinals at West Prelims in Austin, running 2:05.19 to advance to the NCAA final site ... made the Pac-12 final at 800-meters, finishing sixth in 2:07.26 ... won the 800-meters at the UW-WSU Dual in a season-best time of 2:05.90 ... part of a pair of second-place finishes at the Drake Relays, running on the 4x1600m relay as well as the 4x800m ... second in the 800m at the Pepsi Team Invite in 2:08.37 ... opened her outdoor season running a second-and-a-half PR in the 1,500m at the Stanford Invitational, going 4:21.64 ... ran the opening 1,200-meter leg on the distance medley relay at NCAA Indoors which finished fifth overall to earn All-America First Team honors for the squad ... broke the indoor school record in the 800-meters with a time of 2:05.14 at the UW Invitational, fastest ever by a Husky indoors or out ... ran the 800m leg on the DMR that qualified for nationals with a time of 11:05.38, the No. 2 time in school history, also at the UW Invitational ... part of another school record, running the second leg on the 4x400m relay that ran 3:43.13 ... took fifth in the 800m at the MPSF Championships in a loaded field, clocking 2:06.31 ... also ran the lead-off leg of the DMR at MPSFs, which finished second in 11:09.33, the No. 5 time in school history ... opened her year with a 1:31.53 600-meters time at the UW Indoor Preview ... named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team ... also earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention and was a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team selection.
2013-14: Redshirted the track season and did not compete ... (Cross Country): First time running cross country for the 800-meter standout, racing three times in the top-seven … first race was at the Bill Dellinger Invite, where she finished 34th, seventh on the squad, as UW won the team title … seventh on the team again at the Wisconsin Invitational, placing 157th overall … ran at the Pac-12 Championships, finishing 58th overall and seventh on the squad … earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
2012-13 (Track): Had a breakout sophomore season, earning All-America honorable mention in the 800-meters outdoors, while breaking the UW school record … set the outdoor 800-meters school record at NCAA West Prelims, where she ran 2:05.34 to place 11th overall and advance to the NCAA final site at Oregon … ran 2:08.61 at West Prelims to advance through the first round … was 21st overall in the NCAA semis to pick up honorable mention All-America status … at the Pac-12 Championships, took fourth in the 800-meter final, running 2:08.03 … also ran on the 4x400-meter relay squad at Pac-12s that ran 3:39.43, the No. 3 time in school history, and seventh in the final … won the 800m at the UW-WSU Dual in a time of 2:08.01 … broke the 2:06 mark for the first time at the Pepsi Team Invitational, where she took third in 2:05.99 … cut her 1,500-meter PR down to 4:23.17 at the Stanford Invitational … started the outdoor season running 56.12 for 400-meters at the Trojan Invite … indoors, ran the 800m leg on the distance medley relay which won the MPSF title for the second year in a row, finishing in a time of 11:08.09 that ranks third in school history … also took sixth in the 800m final at MPSFs in 2:07.29 … set an indoor PR of 2:06.73 at the Husky Classic which ranks second on the Husky indoor top-10 list … named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team … also a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention ... (Cross Country): Did not compete during the fall.
2011-12 (Track): Part of the national championship winning distance medley relay team, running the 800-meter leg, in her first track season ... she and Chelsea Orr, Jordan Carlson, and Katie Flood won the NCAA Indoor title in Nampa, Idaho on March 9, the first UW women to win an indoor championship, taking the DMR in a time of 11:05.20 ... that group also smashed the DMR school record, winning the MPSF Championship in a time of 10:55.01, the fifth-fastest time in NCAA history, and an MPSF meet record and Dempsey facility record ... earned First Team All-America honors for the DMR ... outdoors, competed at the Pac-12 Championships, placing 14th in the 800-meters in a time of 2:11.44 ... season-best 800m time of 2:09.39 came in a fifth-place effort at the Pepsi Team Invite ... second in the 800m at the UW-WSU Dual in 2:09.60 ... indoors, was sixth in the 800m at the Husky Classic in 2:09.57 ... also ran the 800m on the DMR at the UW Invitational, which ran 11:18.34 to take second, the No. 4 time in school history ... (Cross Country): Redshirted the fall season to preserve a year of eligibility ... did not see competition.
High School and Personal: Born in Spokane, Washington ... parents are Amy and John Mires ... mother works as an ER nurse and father is a high school teacher and head boys track coach ... father competed in track at Eastern Washington, and grandfather played football and track at USC ... has one older sister, Jessica, and one younger brother, John ... Washington State's top middle distance runner over the past three years collecting a total of seven Washington 4A state titles on the track ... won the 800-meter state title from 2009 to 2011, setting a PR in the state final her senior year of 2:10.28 ... won the state 1,600-meter title as a sophomore and junior but did not finish the final at state as a senior ... also captured 4x400m relay titles in 2009 and 2010 ... second at state as a senior in her first 400-meters final, after a PR of 57.30 in the prelims ... three titles in 2010 helped Mead to the state team title ... also was second at state as a freshman in the 1,600m and the 4x4 relay ... third in the 800-meters at the 2011 Brooks PR Invite at the Dempsey on UW's campus, running 2:12.95 ... ranked 21st nationally in the mile in 2010 with a PR of 4:54.39 at the Arcadia Invite ... also a standout cross country runner, placed fifth at the Washington 4A State Championships in both 2009 and 2010 as a junior and senior, and won league and district cross titles both years ... as a junior in 2009, placed 12th at the Foot Locker West Regional, barely missing a spot at nationals ... graduated with a 3.8 GPA.
