2014: The school record-holder returned from injury and scored once again at the Pac-12 meet and advanced to NCAA Prelims in the triple jump … finished fourth in the triple jump at Pac-12s in Pullman with a best jump of 41-5 ¾ … had a wind-aided season-best of 42-1 ¼ to win the UW-WSU Dual Meet … reached NCAA Prelims but was unable to get a legal jump in her three attempts … jumped 40-6 at the Beach Invitational to take second … indoors, had a best triple jump of 39-7 ¼ at the New Mexico Classic … a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
2013: Redshirted the season while rehabbing a hip injury.
2012: Shattered the school record in the triple jump at the Pac-12 Championships, just missing the conference title by a quarter of an inch ... at Pac-12s, had four attempts that went past the previous school record, including the first two 42-foot jumps of her career, but on her sixth and final attempt, she went a wind-legal 43-3 ¼ to take second ... that jump qualified her for the U.S. Olympic Trials, where she finished 19th in the prelims ... struggled at NCAA West Prelims, finishing 24th overall with a mark of 40-11 ½ ... won the triple jump at the UW-WSU Dual with a best of 41-4 ½ ... took second at the Pepsi Team Invite in the triple jump at 40-6 ¾ ... jumped 40-11 ½ at the Mt. SAC Relays ... indoors, best triple jump of 39-10 came in a sixth-place finish at the MPSF Championships ... also went 39-9 ¼ to take fourth at the UW Invitational ... best long jump of the year, indoors or out, was 17-11 ½ at the UW Final Qualifier.
2011: Another strong season for the triple jump specialist, as she raised her personal-bests, scored at both conference meets, and qualified once again for the NCAA West Prelims ... improved her standing at the West Prelims in Eugene, as she finished 20th overall with a best triple jump of 40-3 ½ ... scored at the Pac-10 Championships in Tucson, finishing seventh in the triple jump at 40-5 ½ ... got the victory at the UW-WSU dual in the triple jump, soaring 40-3 ½ ... also picked up a big win at the Oregon Relays in a new personal-best leap of 41-3 ¼, which is the third-best jump in school history ... indoors, was seventh at the MPSF Championships in the triple, going 39-3 ¾ ... tied for the win at the UW Final Qualifier, with a new indoor best of 39-10 ½, ranking her seventh on the indoor top-10 ... upped her long jump PR to 18-4 ½ at the UW Invitational, good for fourth-place.
2010: Broke the Washington freshman school record in the triple jump, and qualified for the NCAA Championship West Prelims as part of an excellent rookie campaign ... broke the UW freshman record in her first outdoor meet, triple jumping 41-0 ¼ to finish third at the Pepsi Team Invitational ... that mark also ranks her third on the Husky Top-10 list ... would not get back past the 40-foot mark until the NCAA West Prelims in Austin, when she jumped 40-10 ¼ on her final attempt to place 26th overall ... won the Ken Shannon triple jump, going 39-10 ½ ... shortest mark in the triple came at Pac-10s, where she was 15th at 38-9 ½ ... third in the triple jump at the UW-WSU dual at 38-11 and fourth in the long jump with a season-best 17-11 ¾ ... also competed in the multis all season, including her first heptathlon at the Mt. SAC Relays, where she scored 4,292 points ... indoor season highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the MPSF Championships in the triple jump, going a season-best 39-feet, 10-inches to rank sixth in school history indoors ... burst onto the scene in her first meet at the UW Indoor Preview, going 39-9 ¾ to win the triple jump ... also cleared 39-feet at the UW Invitational, going 39-6 ½ ... took 12th in the pentathlon at the UW Invitational, scoring 3,231 points.
High School and Personal: Born in Richland, Washington ... parents are Cynthia and Melvin Lakes ... has one younger brother, Shakeem, and one younger sister, Shanice ... won league and district titles in the triple jump and then placed second at the 4A Washington state meet in the triple jump with the second best mark in any class ... also finished 12th as a senior at state in the 200-meter dash and ran at state in the 4x1 and 4x2 relays ... 4x100 and 4x200 relays both took third at state her junior year, and she played seventh in the triple jump and also competed in the heptathlon at the multi-event championships.
