2012 (Sophomore): Redshirted the season.
2011 (Freshman): Appeared in eight games, in four of which the Huskies earned a shutout ... took two shots and one shot on goal ... took his first collegiate shot, a shot on goal versus UCLA on Oct. 7 and another on Nov. 11 versus Oregon State.
Wissing is a midfielder/forward from Hilo (Hawai'i) High School and played club ball with the Honolulu SC Bulls '93 ... he attended a private high school for two years and then played his final two years at Hilo ... he was the team captain at HHS and won the BIIF High School Championship ... the BIIF Player of the Year in 2011, a Hawai'i State Senior All-State pick, BIIF First-Team midfielder both years, a 2010-11 Second-Team All-State selection and a member of the Hawai'i state 93 ODP team from 2007-10 ... selected to 93 Boys ODP Region IV Team and was 2010 ODP Winter Interregional champs ... very strong academically, being named the honor roll and principal lists and was inducted into the National Honor Society.
Chad Kekoa Wissing was born July 21, 1993 in Hilo, Hawai'i ... his parents are Kim Michael Wissing (deceased) and Diane Wissing ... was also recruited by the University of Hawai'i, Chaminade University, Colorado State, University of Denver, Cal State San Bernardino amongst others ... he is the first his is family to play collegiate athletics ... hobbies include bodyboarding and ocean sports ... lists his favorite athlete has Xavi Hernandez because, "he is without a doubt one of, if not the most creative soccer players today ... he has the ability to completely change the tempo and flow at any given point in the game, and can see the pass that no one else sees or expects ... he has incredible vision ... it is players such as Xavi that are the foundation that every great team needs to succeed," ... most admires his mother without a doubt because, "I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must have been to raise me as a single mother ... she has always been there supporting me in everything I do, whether it is soccer, school, or just cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner for all of my friends when they come over ... she has completely dedicated her life to making sure that I have every opportunity to succeed in anything that I put my mind to ... she works hard and always gives back ... when I do things, she always reminds me that in life sometimes you have only one chance to do it right ... she has been the most influential person in my life and one day I would like to grow up and be like her and become the son that she could be proud of," ... chose UW because of its excellent academic and athletic programs.
