STANFORD, Calif. -- The Husky women's tennis team got off to a strong start at the ITA Northwest Regionals, winning all five of their matches in the morning and seeing three more win in the afternoon and advance to the round of 32.

Twelve ITA Regional tourneys are being held around the country this weekend, with the individual singles and doubles winners from each site advancing to the ITA National Indoor Championships next month in Flushing Meadows, New York. The Northwest Region features D-I teams from Washington, Oregon, and Northern California. Highlighting the field are full squads from Pac-12 rivals Stanford, California, Oregon, and Washington State

Ysidora is through to the Round of 32 after defeating Marina Nikoloc in straight sets. Ysidora dominated play, winning 6-0, 6-2. She advances to face Alice Duranteau of California who had a pair of straight-set victories over competition from Gonzaga and Washington State.

Also taking advantage of the first-round bye and then advancing in the second round was Nemcevic. The junior got the rest in the morning and then defeated Samantha Polayes of Gonzaga in round two. She will next take on Lynn Chi of California in the Round of 32 on Saturday.

Douglas-Miron is also through to the Round of 32 after a big first round win and then advancing through the second round because of an injury to her opponent. Douglas-Miron earned a 6-2, 7-6 straight-set victory over Ellie D. Edles of UC Davis in the first round and then advanced when top seeded Nicole Gibbs of Stanford pulled out with an injury. Douglas Miron will now face Stephanie K. Skaras of Santa Clara in the Round of 32.

In doubles, all three Husky teams had byes to the second round and did not have to participate in Round 1. The teams of Gregoire-Kemp, Douglas-Miron-Sari Ysidora and Coronel-Lukac will play their second-round matches on Saturday.
