FULLERTON, Calif. - Junior pitcher Bryana Walker (La Quinta, Calif.) had a perfect game until the fifth and a no-hitter until the sixth, and came out with a 6-4 victory over Pacific (15-15) on Sunday afternoon in the final game for the Huskies in the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif.
The No. 18/16 Huskies concluded non-conference play with a 22-7 record.
Walker (12-3) allowed four runs on six hits in 6.0 innings. Junior Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.) picked up her first save on the season pitching the seventh inning.
Washington had nine hits, led by juniors Victoria Hayward (Mountain View, Calif.) and Inglesby and sophomores Kylee Lahners (Laguna Hills, Calif.) and Kimberlee Souza (Waialua, Hawai'i), all with two each.
The Huskies put two runs up in the first, one each in the second and third and two more in the fifth. All four Pacific runs came in the sixth.
Inglesby hit a two-run home run in the first also scoring Hayward who led off the game with a single.
A solo home run by Souza down the left field line was the run in the second.
In the third, a sacrifice bunt by junior Hooch Fagaly (Chino, Calif.) scored Hayward, an unearned run after an error by the Tigers shortstop earlier in the inning.
The two Husky runs in the fifth scored on singles by Lahners and Souza.
In the sixth for Pacific, six-straight singles brought home the four runs and a fielder's choice.
Pac-12 play begins March 23 at Arizona at 3 p.m. PT.
