SEATTLE -- No. 48 Washington earned a huge conference win on Saturday, knocking off unranked Arizona, 4-3. For the second-straight day the outcome came down to the final match with Natali Coronel on the court, but this time she pulled it out for her team.

The win improved the Huskies to 10-8 on the season and 2-4 in conference.

The Dawgs won the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead. After losing at No. 3, Washington bounced back to win both of the other matches by a score of 8-5. Elianne Douglas-Miron and Grace Ysidora then clinched the point, playing a marathon final game to earn the win.

In singles, Shimizu quickly made it 2-0 by cruising to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Susan McRann at the No. 6 spot.

However, Arizona fought back, winning the next two matches in three sets to even the score. Grace Ysidora losing to Kim Stubbe, 7-5, 3-6, 6-0.

The Dawgs reclaimed the lead in another three setter as Douglas Miron dominated the final set to defeat Laura Oldman, 7-5, 3-6, 6-2.

Back came Arizona, tying the match after Lacey Smyth defeated Andjela Nemcevic at the No. 1 singles spot. The match went back and forth with each of the first two sets being decided in tiebreaks, but Smith was able to close out the third set, 6-3.

That left the fate of the Huskies up to Coronel for the second-straight day, playing at No. 5 singles. Saturday she persevered, fighting back from dropping the first set to win the second in a tiebreak and close out the last set, 7-5. The sophomore won 3-6, 7-6 (7), 7-5 to give the Dawgs their second conference win of the season.

Next up for Washington is a trip to the Rocky Mountains to face Utah and Colorado. The Dawgs take on the Utes on Friday, April 5, at 12:30 p.m., followed by the Buffaloes on Sunday, April 7, at 11 a.m.
