TULSA, Okla. - Qualifying action wrapped up today at the ITA All-American Championships, with the Husky doubles duo of Emmett Egger and Kyle McMorrow winning one and losing one, falling one match short of reaching the main draw.
At the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, Egger and McMorrow started the day off with an emphatic victory over the team of Fickey and Jones from the University of Tennessee. The UW duo earned the 8-2 win to move on to the final qualifying round.
Next up was the Georgia pair of Pieters and Wagland, ranked 35th in the preseason poll and the No. 5 seeds in qualifying. The tight match went the way of the Bulldogs pair by one break of serve, 8-6.
Tomorrow, McMorrow will take to the singles court for the first time this season, as the main draw begins.
