Washington Athletics Internship Program
Washington's Athletic Internship Program explores many facets of sports administration, coaching and operations. Student Interns will gain a strong understanding of possibilities, challenges and rewards facing administrators in Division 1 Athletics today. Below is a list of UW Athletics Internship Opportunities for University of Washington Graduate Students who are actively engaged in fulfilling their graduation requirements. Game day coverage, event management, compilation of statistics, writing press releases and feature stories, producing media information, some videography and photography, and updating the department’s web site (www.GoHuskies.com). The successful candidate will have responsibility as the primary media for assigned sports, and will assist in the coverage of other sports as directed.
Auditing, report generation, data entry, research, and filing. Assist in creating educational resources, reporting of violations and waivers, and interpretation of NCAA and Pac-12 rules and regulations.
Create digital content for fan development and recruiting properties and other owned media channels. Other projects as requested.
Ticket office support including front line sales and customer service relations. Event box office and account management, and player guest admissions, inventory control.
Assist with day to day operations of Sports Teams, events, creation of donor and alumni data base, assist in travel arrangements for team, assist in management of social media platforms, coordination of team functions, help assistant Director of Operations and Coaches with a variety of duties.
Web content, creation, research and development. Outreach and conversation with fans.
Assist with day to day TEAM Operations, work closely with Director of Operations and Team Managers in the management of social media platforms, coordination of team functions, team travel, office management, mailers and other duties.
Assist the Football Operations Manager with day to day assignments including mailers, equipment inventory, meal coordination, practice and day of game set up, locker room organization and break down. Ability to represent Washington Athletics at special events with integrity at all times, including game day or appearances as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.
Assist Football Recruiters with day to day assignments, log staff’s phone calls, evaluations and contacts. Incorporate applicable recruiting service information into recruiting database. Create innovative and creative mailings for recruits and parents, camps and clinics. Perform other duties as assigned
Work a long side UW Athletic Grounds Crew in any and all upkeep and appearance of outdoor areas. The work is labor-intensive. Perform other duties as assigned (indoors/outdoors).
Assist with scheduling of practices, games, meetings, special events and facility rentals. Create event and facility logistics, manage payroll database and schedule event staff for all ICA events. Act as event manager for a variety of athletic and non-athletic events.
Assists Director of Operations, Coaches and Staff with day to day assignments, create innovative recruiting mailers, equipment inventory, meal coordination, practice and day of game set up, locker room organization and break down. Ability to represent Washington Athletics at special events. Perform other duties as assigned.
Assists staff in all facets of athletics fundraising and development: priority seating, game day hospitality, donor prospecting.
Assist with day to day operations of IMG Staff, corporate sponsorship efforts on behalf of UW’s Athletic Department. Ability to make deadlines with proper follow through.
Assist with recruiting efforts (internal database, mailings), creation of donor and alumni events. Day-to-day volleyball operations, oversight of team banquet and community service programs. Assistant manager of social media play forms.
